This is a small, but versatile plant for pot or garden. The deep red flowers seem to last forever. Not only does it take a long time for a single raceme to flower through; as soon as one inflorescence flowers through, there is another ready to take its place. Established plants can have flowers for up to 10 months of the year. Keep 4 or 5 stem shoots for better flower production, should your plant produce stem shoots. All other shoots should be removed.
The tips of the green leaves typically die back and can be nipped off for a neater appearance.
