Aloe ‘Emerald’

To see such a tiny aloe hybrid produce an array of white-from-red racemes is quite thrill. Not only are the bicoloured racemes unusual for an aloe of this size, they can open their flowers any time from midsummer to late winter.

The plant has small, straight, dark green leaves with soft spines. It can benefit from being allowed to grow up to 5 stem shoots to maturity, as the flowering can be quite spectacular (on a miniature scale)

Being so small, it should be treated as a pot plant as it would require too much watering to keep them going in an open rockery.
